JJIF Seminar in Tunisia

On the 3rd and 4th of April 2014, in Tunis Tunisia, an International Ju-Jitsu seminar took place with more than 150 athletes, coaches and referees participants from 4 countries, Tunisia, Libya, Algeria and Morocco.

The JJIF General Manager, Mr. Eugene Domagata conducted the technical seminar. The referee seminar was conducted by Mr. Dimitrios Georgantidis, JJAFU Referee Director and Mr. Adriano Mariotti JJAFU Vice Referee Director.

On the 5th and 6th of April the 1st Maghrebian Ju-Jitsu Championship took place. 114 athletes participated both in Fighting and Duo System. The championship was very successful without any problems or injuries.

On Saturday evening, the delegators of the 4 countries had a meeting and under the instruction and guidance of the JJIF General Manager, Mr. Eugene Domagata, they all agreed and signed the creation of the Maghreb Union. The Maghreb area is a geographical area like the Balkans, consisting of 4 countries, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco. It was an exciting moment full of hope for the development of Ju-Jitsu in North Africa.

Mrs. Narjes Bougouerra and Mrs. Hanene Marouani, respectively, both from Tunisia, were unanimously selected President and General Secretary.
