World Cup U15 and Balkan Open

From 25th to 27th September 2015, in the „Borik“ sports hall in the city of Banja Luka, Ju-jitsu Federation of the Republic of Srpska hosted the XII Open Balkan Championship and the World Cup for the U15.

In those three days, the city of Banja Luka was visited by 640 competition participants from 19 countries - Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Denmark, Greece, Croatia, Italy, Israel, Cyprus, Germany, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine and the Republic of Srpska. 520 of them were athletes who took part in ju-jitsu fighting, duo system and ne-waza techniques.

Due to the importance of the competition, Mr Panagiotis Theodoropoulos, President of the International Ju-Jitsu Federation, Mr Tomo Borissov, Vice President of the International Ju-Jitsu Federation, Mr Quenza Dario, President of the European Ju-Jitsu Federation, Mr Robert Perc, Secretary of the European Ju-Jitsu Federation and Mr Poulikidis Anastasios, President of the Balkan Ju-Jitsu Federation attended the competition.

Mr Panagiotis Theodoropoulos, President of the International Ju-Jitsu Federation, who officially opened the competition, said that he was happy to see that such a big number of countries participated in the Open Balkan Championship and World Cup with numerous competitors, and that the Republic of Srpska, the city of Banja Luka and Ju-Jitsu Federation of the Republic of Srpska once again proved that they were great hosts.

At the closing ceremony, President of Ju-Jitsu Federation of the Republic of Srpska, Mr Radislav Jovicic, thanked the competitors, referees and trainers for sportsmanship and fair play during the competition. In addition, he expressed the hope to see them all again in the Republic of Srpska on other competitions. He also thanked the members of the International, European and Balkan Ju-Jitsu Federation Boards for their trust placed in our Federation and support provided during the organization of the competition.

The best team results of the XII Open Balkan Championship and the World Cup for the U15 were achieved by the Team from Slovenia, second place was taken by the competitors of the Russian Team, and the Romanian Team won the third place. The Republic of Srpska Team won eighth place by winning 25 medals in total - 5 gold, 11 silver and 9 bronze medals.

On XII Open Balkan Championship, the first place was won by the Slovenian Team, the second by Israelian Team, and the Team from Romania won the third place.
